Pitched Roofing
Roofing Homes, Not Houses . . .
A pitched roof is a roof made up of two angled pieces which meet in the centre, with gables at either end. The size of both sides of the roof is generally the same, it is also possible to make a single pitch roof, whereby the entire roof is made of one flat section installed at an angle, this method of construction is the most common. Furthermore, it is important for you as the customer to decide how steep you want your pitch to be as the steeper it is, the more room there will be in loft space, something which could be invaluable should you plan a loft conversion in the future. The decision of how to cover your pitched roof, for example tiles, terra cotta or shingle, is also up to you. This is mainly an aesthetic choice, as it makes a huge difference to the look of your property; but it’s worth remembering that some materials are harder wearing than others.
Our experienced tradesmen can advise you on decisions regarding which materials we use or roofing techniques we employ, and are happy to discuss the effects they will have on the project.
